License for Application and Database gets uninstalled post applying SP2 for Bakup Exec 2012 causing backup job failure with license errors

Microsoft Exchange 2003 and/or SQL 2005 instance backup job fails with error “e000fe3c - Before you can back up this resource, you must purchase and install a license key for the appropriate Backup Exec agent" after installing SP2 for BE 2012. On attempting to edit the selection list for the backup job,Exchange 2003 Information Store and/or SQL instance are not visible.
