Which Group Should I Join?

The goal of this group is to help system administrators fully utilize deployment and imaging capabilities found in Deployment Solution and Symantec Ghost. A team of Symantec deployment and imaging experts will monitor content posted to this group and highlight the most useful information so it's easy to find. This team will also post content such as how to videos and sample tasks to make getting the most out of Deployment Solution and Symantec Ghost easier than ever. Members of this group will have access to configuration guidelines and best practices, valuable how to videos, and sample jobs and tasks that can be quickly leveraged to help you get the most out of Symantec's deployment and imaging technologies. This group includes Deployment, Ghost, Task Server, and PCT.

Discovery and Inventory

This group is designed to help system administrators utilize the Network Discovery, Inventory, Application Metering, Barcode, and Asset Management capabilities in ITMS. Users are strongly encouraged to share product extensions, such as custom inventory scripts. Group admins will monitor this group and highlight the best custom inventory scripts, videos, and articles they find. This group includes Asset Management, CMDB, Barcode, and Inventory for Servers.

This group is focused on implementation best practices, UI guidance, and performance and scalability tips for ITMS. A Symantec team of experts on the above areas is tasked to monitor this group page. Here are some topics that fit this group page: ITMS installation; first-time setup and configuration; designing your ITMS environment; Notification Server and UI performance; and general usability.

Mac Management

Monitor and Server Health

This group is designed to help system administrators utilize the health and performance monitoring capabilities in Server Management Suite. It also highlights the custom monitor packs that are available or should be created.  A team of Symantec monitor experts watch this group closely and highlight helpful resources for the user community to make them much easier to find. Members of this group can use these experts as a sounding board for their questions and ideas. They will also find resources they can quickly leverage to extend the capabilities of their server monitoring implementations.

Patch Management

This group is designed to help system administrators utilize the Windows, Mac, and Linux patch management capabilities in ITMS.  Members of this group will have access to configuration guidelines, valuable how to videos, and examples. Users are strongly encouraged to share questions, ideas and information that others would find helpful, such as tips and tricks for updating particular applications.

The goal of this group is to help system administrators make full use of the out-of-box and custom reporting capabilities in ITMS, including operational and business-level reports.  A team of Symantec reporting experts will monitor content posted to this group and highlight the information that has superior value to customers. The team will also post content to assist with frequently asked reporting questions and requests. Members of this group will have access to installation and configuration guidelines, valuable how to videos, and examples of custom reports they can quickly leverage to meet their reporting needs.

Server Management

This group is sponsored by the Server Management Suite product team. Our goal is to provide our users with access to the best resources available to help them meet their server management needs.  This group's areas of focus are server virtualization management, Linux and UNIX management, native server management integration, and server inventory and process automation. We encourage members to submit ideas for new resources and capabilities that would help them address their evolving needs in the server space. This group is designed to help system administrators utilize the Software Management capabilities in ITMS, including the Software Catalog, Managed Delivery policies and Quick Delivery tasks.  A team of Symantec experts will closely monitor this group and highlight resources particularly helpful for the user community, making them easier to find. The experts team will also post content to assist with frequently asked questions and requests. Members of this group will have access to configuration guidelines, valuable how to videos, and examples. Users are strongly encouraged to share questions, ideas and information that others would find helpful, such as tips on defining software products for license management purposes.

This group provides a one-stop shop for everything Workflow—from example workflows and templates to videos and user forums.  This group is sponsored by the Symantec Workflow team.
