Which version of SQL server is good for SEPM servers

Hello all,

I am new to administering SEPM. So, anya  help provided is greatly appreciated.

we have 3 SEPM servers and all are using internal db's. We have about 1400 clients that we monitor.

What are the recommendation for moving the DB to SQL server? and guide lines or pointer are helpful.
