Symantec Encryption Desktop - Unlock Desktop Question

Hello,

I have a customer who is using Symantec Encryption Desktop on a Windows 7 machine. When he has locked his desktop and has to login he has to go through the following process:

1. Click on his user.

2. Then has to press CTRL+ALT+DEL. (This is the odd extra step)

3. Enters his pass word.

I have a test machine set up the same way that is not on a domain. In that case all that is required is click on you name and then enter your password (like step 1 and step 3 above).

What I am curious about is why he has to press CTRL+ALT+DEL in step 2. This seems like and odd extra step. Is this normal functionality for computers that are part of a domain?
