Altiris Recover agent doesn't respond

Hello

 

I've just recieved a computer with newly installed Windows XP pro. The problem is that I cannot access the recovery partion via F11 at bootup. All I get is a line saying "starting........................................." and nothing else. Then, if I boot into Windows normally and try to run AexRD32.exe I get the error message:

 

"Altiris Recovery is being initialized and cannot be accessed at this momonet.

 

Please try to repeat your action later when Recovery Agent icon in system try is not animated. If Altiris Recovery Agent is configured to hide Recovery Agent icon then please wait for some time and try your action again."

 

I really don't know what to do and would greatly appreciate some help. Is there anything I can do to get Alitris working.
