In my build process I am running some scripts in the WinPE environment. What I would like to do is use one of them to allow the technician doing the imaging to select a specific image variation, the script would then write an indetifier for that image variation to the database and from there a custom data variable would allow me to use the REPLACE TOKENS statement to dynamically have DS 6.9 update the image string. Specifically, the element in the imagex command where imagex is told which image within the wim file to deploy.
The end game is to have a single menu option from DS that gets the technician into the script thus allowing filters, scripts etc. to guide the technician to the correct image for the scenario.

Questions:
Where should I write the data in the data base?
How do I actually assign it a custom token?
Is there a better way to acheive the dynamic assignment?
What else do I need to know?
