Logon, Services logon accounts, and logic behind overwrite

I need a solution

So I am having a little bit of a hard time grasping what the difference is between the logon accounts (under the network menu in BE) and the services logon accounts.  If you change the credentials in the Logon account through BE I don't believe that it changes the the services log on.  Should the logon account and the services log on accounts use the same credentials?  Al,so in the log on accounts why does it specify Username and owner.  I my case the username and the owner are 2 different accounts?  Why?  I think I notice that you have to log onto BE with the owner account, for example, the logon window that comes up when you try to open BE when the BE services are stopped.

Another question is, I have a hard a time following the logic behind setting the overwrite period.  A collage of mine said that you should set your daily incremental backups to overwrite in 5 days and then set your weekly full backups to overwrite in 30 days.  This will enable you to keep 30 days of backups. I think this is incorrect, shouldn't you incremental be set to overwrite in 30 days also?  For example, If you have a file that changed once on monday, then again on thursday, a weekly backup runs on friday, if on tuesday of the following week you decide you need the document from monday you won't be able to restore it because monday's media is already over written.  Correct?

One final question, I learned in another one of my posts that you can not have 2 versions of BE installed on a single machine.  However can you install BE on a machine that does not have BE on it and install agents on machines that have another version of BE on it.  Right now each of our 6 servers are acting as their own media server, we will be purchasing BE 2012 sometime this week and our current backups are in complete disarray.  I would like to avoid migrating the exiting data to the new version of BE, however I cant go with out any backups.
