Symantec Endpoint Solution Vshield Virtual Appliance

Hello,

Can someone confirm if vmware guests still require the Symantec client to be installed if using Vmware Vshield with the Symantec virtual applicance and the vshield guest drivers?

My understanding was this would be clientless.
